Seven Levels of Consciousness

The Seven Levels of Consciousness: A Journey to Super-Self-Awareness

Man is not just a biological body or a psychological personality. In essence, he is an eternal Spirit-Soul Self, temporarily living in a body and expressing itself through a personality. On the path of spiritual development, every human being passes through seven levels of consciousness—each deeper, brighter, and closer to Divine Truth.

The first level is sensitivity, present in the mineral kingdom. Minerals, metals, and crystals react to heat, pressure, and light. These reactions are not random but reflect a deep, silent consciousness shaped by divine intelligence.

The second level is Sensation, expressed in the plant kingdom. Plants sense light, seasons, and temperature. They bloom, close, and follow their natural cycles in harmony with the movements of the world. Flowers, for example, orient themselves towards the sun, and trees bud according to the light. Plant consciousness is alive, subtle, and sensitive.

The third level is Instinct, specific to the animal kingdom. Animals move, reproduce, protect themselves, and live guided by instinctive intelligence. This intelligence does not come from thinking but is guided by nature spirits, angelic elementals that coordinate the life of each species. In them we recognize a secret wisdom, a pure form of order and protection.

In humans, all three levels exist, but there is a fourth one: the subconscious. This is where our memories, emotions, desires, fears, and beliefs accumulate in the form of living entities called elementals. This subconscious influences our daily decisions, reactions, and behaviors, often without us realizing it. It is like an invisible ocean that governs our lives from the shadows. It is also where the lessons from our previous lives reside, as well as those we must learn now in order to evolve. Working with our subconscious means cleansing and enlightening it so that we can truly know ourselves.

The fifth level is conscious awareness, the state of presence and lucidity. It is our ability to be attentive, to choose consciously, and to observe our thoughts and emotions. Not all people live consciously. Many remain stuck in automatic patterns. But with effort, we can transform the subconscious into consciousness and become masters of our inner selves.

The sixth level is Self-Awareness—true spiritual awakening. We are no longer just a personality that thinks and feels, but we become aware of our deepest nature, our Soul. We see ourselves as our Real Self, as beings created in the Image and Likeness of the Divine Logos. Through introspection, meditation, and inner cleansing, we begin to reflect the Light of the Soul in our daily lives.

The seventh and highest level is Supra-Self-Consciousness, the state in which we are fully aware of all dimensions of existence and Being. We are no longer limited by time, space, or personality. It is complete unification with the Divine, what Christianity calls Theosis, and other traditions call Divine Consciousness. It is the Light of Christ within us—”the true light that enlightens every man who comes into the world” (John 1:9). It is the Logos—God in expression—and we, as conscious beings, are living parts of this Logos. Each of us is a Logos in the making.

This journey is not only possible, it is the destiny of every human being. Let us not forget: we are not just consciousness—we are the Self that uses consciousness. And every level we pass through brings us closer to our True Nature.
